Three Rivers Young Birders Club
Three Rivers Young Birders Club is open to youth ages 9-14.
Programs and events will be held throughout the year at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park and are free for club members.
Club membership is free with the option of donating $20 to support the club into the future..

Wednesday, July 9, 2025, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Wellness Walk
Join us for a low-impact, guided trail walk that engages the whole person (physical, mental and emotional). Each session includes a low-impact walk and a wellness activity such as meditation, breathing or nature reading. Participants will be on uneven trails up to two miles. Wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing. Meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, rain or shine. Nordic poles and instruction are provided. Drop-ins welcome.

Join a naturalist for a walk along the trails. Observe seasonal changes happening across the habitats and landscapes. Bring binoculars if you have them; some pairs will be available to borrow for those who need them. Drop-ins welcome. Hike departs shortly after 2 p.m. from in front of the visitor center.

Of the 23 types of thrushes in the United States, seven species call Minnesota home. Learn about the habits and habitats of this special group of birds while out on the trails in the park. Free Family Fun Day: Osprey
Come to the nature center and discover this incredible fishing raptor. Learn about their hunting style, habitat needs, migration route and physical adaptations. Then take a short self-guided walk to observe an active osprey nesting platform. If the nesting platform is occupied this year, you’ll get a chance to see these amazing birds in the wild. No reservations needed; drop in anytime.

Nature Fest
Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, the City of Bloomington, Indigenous Roots, Huellas Latinas and the Minnesota Zoo presents Nature Fest (formerly Latino Conservation Week or LCW) an event to celebrate the cultures that make up Latino community and the nature that connects us all. Join us for a day of music, art, and food. Everyone is welcome at this FREE event! Enjoy cultural performances, try something new at the food trucks, discover wildlife, and so much more! Explore the refuge and discover new ways to enjoy the outdoors. The first 250 people to arrive will also receive free meal tickets to use at the food trucks. This is an event you won’t want to miss – bring the whole family!
